Games are good strategies to learn english in a funny way. So that, nowadays teachers have to apply all those tools in order to be creative and to keep the interesting on the topic that you have to talk about and the content you are working with.
Here, i'm recommending to you a very cool link to teach teenagers even though you can adapt it to kids.
Like my friend yoselin says, the games are excellent strategies because the activity favorite of kids are play, and we had to use that energy for teach them with different kind of games that way they fun but they are learnig too... Edirub
Yes Edi, the advantage to teach kids it is while you are try to show all the contents easily, at the same time they are learning and having a good time. Also, teachers have to take into consideration the audience age or the proficiency level to develop games. However, children can get more information if they are using all their sense.
Edi you can see this link in order to know what i´m referring to: http://www.mingoville.com/en/teachers.html
I think that teaching children is not easy, for this reason we have to choose different strategies and resources to teach English to them. In this sense, games are fun and children like to play them. Through games children can experiment, discover, and interact with their environment. Also, games are highly motivating since they are amusing and at the same time challenging. When children are playing games they learn without being aware they are studying and they really enjoy to do it.
Friends here I leave a good link in which you can find games for teach children:
Very good, Dianita! Everybody loves playing!I do!! =)Remember we must choose the appropriate games according to the age of our students! Now a personal question to all of you: What has been your favorite game played in class and why? (Remember you "ALL" have to participate more than once and in different opportunities)
I think that teaching children through play is very impportant, even more when the child is in the early stages of development, I think that through these they can have fun and so education is more significant.they can play and can learn in a fun way. Here you can find games http://www.primarygames.com/ http://www.theyellowpencil.com
well, all games were fun because they were designed for ages that each of the students said, was this competition and teamwork it takes to keep the focus on a class
In this oportunity I agree with my friend julia,is very difficult to choose just a game all were very interesting and fun. why? because each one of them had a specific purpose: to practice English topics in a fun way. They were different topics but each game was adapted to each specific topic. For example the game to identify the body parts was interesting. Also, the game where we had to paint the animals and the other in which we had to select the names of the fruits were very funny. I liked the train with months of the years and finally "Find my shapes" all were crazy about winning. I really enjoyed it. I think all games were interesting because they promoted cooperative work.
Yes my dear teacher, everybody loves games!!! even if they are involved. Hence, when we are teaching we have to take into account our student age as you said and the proficiency level owing to we need to apply suitables strategies in order to keep on our audience attention. That the reason why i love playing with flash cards due to it doesn´t matter the contents you can use it everytime.
To be honest, my game was the best!!! (jajajajajaja) it was a joke. All games developed in class were amazing. Each of us applied different ways for teaching even though we kept our own stiles.
Helloo hello, according to the first question and the anwers of my dear partners. children play because it's fun but behind that fun way is an important aspect for their learning and development. playing is a motivating strategy, creative and enjoyable, it is of great importance in the education of children.
The game is the main language of children; they communicate with the world through play., By the manifest desires, fears, fantasies and conflicts. Children stimulate all their senses, enhance their creativity, their imagination, their mental activity, attention, observation, awareness and socialization. Furthermore, it helps to use physical and mental energy in productive ways or entertaining. And not only that, it also allows them knowledge about their own body; * their abilities and limitations * Personality * Interests and preferences and so on.. here you can see some kid links:
Well, I have only used one of the games applied in class and it was the bingo¨s game, children were totally entertained and like julia said they don`t want to stop, they wanted to continue the same game and however, teachers begun to play as much as the same chidren.
I think that when is applied games in class, they show more attention, enthusiasm, ability to stay awake during the class with their active participation.
Of course!!! I've applied those strategies before taking English for kids class, and the way how i realized about the results that I got when applied those games are: the audience attitude, the reacting and (I think it's the most important thing) the development reached by them after the activity.
yes yoselin. I think it¨s the only way for children get a true learning. the game has been the only tool for children to be the builders of their own learning.
I have had the opportunity to work with children and it has been a wonderful experience when I have applied these games students have learned faster because they really enjoy it. :-)
If we consider that: * They do not have complete control of all communicative skills. and * If we talk a lot, they'll be bored.
The games are important for children because: In contrast, the games are activities that are accompanied by dynamic strategies, colors, music, and lots of laughs. Allows children to acquire knowledge with fun.
